Pat, my commercial 45 has a listed time of (5:47), but an actual time of (5:44). My promo 45 has the same listed times as you currently notate in the database, (4:10) and (5:47), but my actual promo 45 times are (4:25) and (5:44).

The promo 45 edit that runs (4:25) for "Jimmy Lee" appears on the new compilation Knew You Were Waiting: The Best Of Aretha Franklin 1980-1998 on Arista/Legacy. There are several other 45 edits on this recent release.

Does anyone know if the 45 edit of Jimmy Lee was available on a non U.S. CD prior to its appearance on the "Best Of" compilation that Santi mentions? I came across a digital copy back in the file-sharing days in the early 2000s, so unless it was a homemade edit, I'm assuming it was available somewhere else.

The Glory of Aretha: 1980–2014 (a 2021 digital release) has the 4:25 promo edit, which it's calling Single Version.
I see on Discogs that the Canadian 45 has a "4:26" version; I bet it's the same. Continental Europe got a "4:10" single. No idea about the UK; they didn't print durations and nobody on Discogs has timed their copies.
The database currently shows 5:44 for the original Aretha and Greatest Hits albums, but the rips of those I have, after trimming silence, run a little over 5:46. The 45 fades out 2 seconds sooner than the album, hence the 5:44 actual running time.
Based on the 60 Hz electrical hum in the intro and the tuning of the instruments, it seems the original US CDs and 45s are sped up by 1%. The album on CD thus runs 5:46.3 instead of 5:49.5, and the slightly early fade on the 45 runs 5:44.5 instead of 5:47.5.
The 4:25 promo edit on The Glory of Aretha also has the 1% speedup. It can't be derived from the album version, either; there's fewer vocal ad-libs at the start.
Notably, the https://www.discogs.com/release/199198-Aretha-Jimmy-Lee-Aretha-Mega-Mix - US 12" has the single version mastered at the recorded speed, thus it does run ~5:47 as stated on the labels.
As always, who's to say what speed is "correct"? In 1986, almost everyone heard it sped up. Sounds fine either way, to me.

Yes, the US promo version was issued on the commercial 45
in Canada. The same was true for "Freeway Of Love', "Who's
Zoomin' Who" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash".
