1) American Edit - 3:52
2) U.K. Edit - 4:51

Here are instructions for creating the edits from the LP version. (Times taken from LP version on Cosmopolitan Vol. 6, which sounds great and was mastered by Steve Hoffman.)

Keep the first 37 beats from 0:00.0-0:23.1.
Edit on the snare in the middle of the second "mercy".
Remove the 32 beats from 0:23.1-0:42.5.
Keep the 92 beats from 0:42.5-1:38.3.
Edit on what would be a snare hit (there isn't one) after the word "stand".
Remove the 16 beats from 1:38.3-1:47.9.
Keep the 156 beats from 1:47.9-3:22.5.
Edit on snare in the middle of "woooo-hoo-woo".
Remove the 66 beats from 3:22.5-4:02.5.
Keep the 97 beats from 4:02.5-5:01.3.
Put a 16-beat fade from 4:51.6-5:01.3.
Your mixdown will run 3:53, with edits at 0:23.1, 1:18.9 and 2:54.6, with a 16-beat fade from 3:44-3:53.
U.K. Edit (also found on UK Now That's What I Call Music 19)
Keep 0:00.0-4:02.5 of LP version.
Edit in middle of drum fill, one beat before the downbeat. Edit should be right before the words "I want you".
Remove the 96 beats from 4:02.5-5:00.7.
Keep the 73 beats from 5:00.7-5:44.9.
Edit on downbeat.
Put a 32-beat fade from 5:25.5-5:44.9.
Your mixdown will run about 4:47, with an edit at 4:02.5 and a 32-beat fade from 4:27-4:47.

BTW, the American Edit of this medley also appears on a US
budget disc released in 2006 simply titled Best Of Robert
Palmer (mostly tracks from his later EMI recording period)
which is not currently listed in the database.
