Just got in a promo 45 on this one. Says EDITED VERSION with a deadwax of 11716-S. Listed and actual is 3:00.
Noticed from the outset that there is much more compression than the LP version. Other than that, it appears to be nothing more than an edit.

Eriejwg, the last one-third of the "Bloody Well Right" promo 45 has the same 12.5-second "Ha ha, you're bloody well right..." segment repeated over and over and over - from 2:03 until the fadeout at 3:00. I hadn't listened to this version in years until digging it out a year ago, and the overly-repeated ending really stuck out (and reinforced my decision in '75 to program the stock 45/LP version at my college station.)

The DJ 45 of Boston's "Don't Look Back," also used a repeated segment to pad out the instrumental fadeout, but that longer segment was only repeated just shy of two times.

Yah Sure:

I didn't notice this until you just mentioned that. I counted 4 times, and on the 5th is where they made the fade at 2:50.

Guess that means the stock/promo versions are NOT the same.

Just finished up my recreation of this promo 45. It can be done...including adding compression. Audition rocks!

Thanks to Yah Sure for cluing me in to that repeated 12.5 second section.

my commercial 45 issued as a&m 1660 has a stated run time on the label as 4:26 but actually runs 4:31 like all the db entries, bar one......
