According to the database, the censored and uncensored version of Justin Timberlake's "Lovestoned" runs 7:23 on all pressings of his Futuresex/Lovesounds CD. However, there is a censored version of "Lovestoned" on the Now 26 various artist CD (Capitol 10765) that runs 4:18, but there are no accompanying comments explaining which version this is. I'm thinking this might be a radio edit, but does anyone have a promo CD single release who can verify for certain?

Todd:

Listened to the version in question, and this may be a custom edit. The part where 'ass' is on the uncensored version is censored on the Now 26 version the same as the radio edit They also edited out the 'damn' in 'hot damn'. Hot damn is NOT edited on the radio edit I have from JonesTM. Plus, the NOW version ends in a way I've never heard before.

Oh,

There are so many versions/remixes of this song out there. My original radio edit from JonesTM runs 5:29 and includes "I Think She Knows" on the end.

If it's any help, the leadoff track on the digital maxi-single is called Radio Edit and runs 5:26.

John:

You could be right about the version of "Lovestoned" on the Now 26 CD being a custom edit because I haven't yet seen evidence of it existing anywhere else... just the 5:29 radio edit you and Brian reference.

Does anyone have a promo CD single release who can enlighten us as to what tracks are on it?

A long time ago, I came across a listing on Discogs for a
'radio edit' on a UK promo CD single. The song is listed
as being just "Lovestoned" with a listed time of 3:44. I
haven't purchased the single but at some point, I came
across a file of the song online.

I have a 320 bit rate mp3 on my hard drive. The portion of
the song where he sings "hot damn" etc is replaced with a
section perhaps from the longer version? My file runs
3:44.

Is this the 4:18 version faded early?

I was able to recreate the short UK edit by using the
radio edit that Brian mentioned above. The instrumental
section between 3:28 and 3:44 on the UK edit was looped
and then fades with a run time of 3:44.

This has been my preferred version for years and I haven't
had anyone complain that I'm playing some weird short
version. In fact, since the song is 13 years old now, I
don't get many requests for it anymore.
