In the database, this is listed as 45 vs. LP version, but my 45 sounds like it's
just an early fade. Pat, is this a case of you saying the song goes on long
enough to be considered different, even though technically it's a fade, or is
there another difference between the two?

Could there be 2 different pressings of this 45 as on my copy (Solar 11894 etched matrix number YB 11894-A) the vocals start at :26 while on my vinyl LP Solar BXL1-3521 titled "The Whispers" the vocals start at :34.

I got my long version from Greatest Hits, off of iTunes, which has the
vocals starting at :26, so apparently that version is the 45 version (with
edited intro) with an extra 1:28 of song. How long is your vinyl LP version?
This might be a case of listing the Greatest Hits version as the 45
version plus 1:28.

No, all of the (4:51) versions are truly neither the 45 nor LP version not just the 45 version + 1:28.

my commercial 45 issued as solar 11894 states a run time on the label as 3:25 and does indeed run that length..... thanks aaron for the edit awhile ago!!!....where did you create the proper 45 version from??....the 45's run time should be added to the db....

Ed, I used the version from Club Epic to create the correct 45 version. As far as I know, the mix is exactly the same on both the 12" and 45 versions. There was only one tricky edit where I had to splice in a "fill" from a later part of the song. Perhaps the LP version can also be edited to make the 45.
