The LP version's actual running time is (3:23)
The 45 version's actual running time is (3:25) (Both LP and 45 are the commercial copy made in the USA.) I feel that the LP version's sound is the same as the 45's until (3:22).However vocal and backgrand(The phone call tone, chorus, etc.) are emphasized on the 45 version. Moreover the 45 has the two additional sounds from (3:22) til the end(3:25). The sounds are "when the phone connection has broken"at (3:22) and "bell rings again"at (3:23). I have "Obscene Phone Caller" on the lone CD appearance listed in the database. On the track's closing seconds, the final verse is "you dirty little nasty twit" and then the sound of a phone being slammed on the hook is heard, followed by the phone ringing one time. Does this match your description of the commercial 45 ending, abagon? And are you saying these sound effects are not on the LP ending? By the way, is anyone else besides me highly surprised that Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me album has never been issued on CD in the U.S.? You'd think being the son of the legendary Motown mogul, Barry Gordy, would earn strong consideration for a CD reissue! (Not to mention the fact the album yielded two Top 40 hits, including the title track which was a #2 Billboard smash!) |

And are you saying these sound effects are not on the LP ending? YES.It doesn't include those sound effects on the vinyl LP ending. Both 45 and LP have (3:24) as stated on the record label. |

my commercial 45 issued as motown 1731 is identical to the version listed below
