Is there a difference between the LP version featured on Disco Nights Vol. 1: Divas of Dance and the 12" version featured on several discs including Evelyn Kings Greatest Hits? The database lists the LP version at 6:30 while the 12" is listed at 6:32.

Thanks.

Fetta, I at one time thought I could detect a difference in the LP version vs the 12" version of "Shame" but going back now and listening to the vinyl counterparts, I cannot detect a difference.

Here is what I came up with that may be of interest to Evelyn King collectors. There were two pressings of the vinyl LP "Smooth Talk" that both included the track "Shame". The first pressings clearly stated a run time of (4:36) and that is exactly the actual running time. The second pressings of this vinyl LP stated a run time of (6:35) and I get an actual run time of (6:31) so I suspect that the 2nd pressings of this vinyl LP include the 12" single version.

I wonder if that second pressing situation also applies to "I Don't Know If It's Right." It seems the "Smooth Talk" LP version starts a lot mellower than
the 1979 45 version (and runs eight seconds longer than the "LP length" versions in the database).

The funny thing is I can't find that "LP length" version anywhere--most of the CDs in the database use the 45 version. All of the "over (4:00)" versions
I've found on iTunes match the "Smooth Talk" LP version.

Both pressings of the vinyl LP "Smooth Talk" feature the same version of "I Don't Know If It's Right" which run (4:15). You are correct about the LP version starting mellower than the 45 so I have changed the comments in the database to LP version and 45 version.

The second pressings on of "Smooth Talk" featured the
Disco Mix (issued to clubs and the public also on 12"
single, which runs 6:31 actual time) due to the success of
"Shame" in
the clubs, the 45 is an edit of the Disco Mix. I own both
the 7" and 12" singles.
