The actual commercial 45 run time of Olivia Newton-John's "Twist of Fate" is 3:40. (Timing info courtesy of abagon. The stated record label time is 3:39.) I only bring this up because database CD appearances of this song run from 3:36-3:43.

According to a poster on the SteveHoffman forums, the
single version of "Twist of Fate" is definitely remixed,
but is the same length as the album version. I've always
thought they were the same- he states that the single
version is available on the promo 12". Experts?

I just checked my promo 12" & white label 45 as well as my original
stock copy from Dec 1983 and they all match the version we have on
CD. I know the promo and stock single both have the R designation
that MCA used to state if a record was a remix but if it is they only
released that version on the Two of A Kind soundtrack and chucked
whatever original mix David Foster turned in. There is a dedicated
longer remix that runs about 530 on the promo 12" and the Livin' In
Desperate Times 12" but that has too many distinctive mix differences
to edit to run the same time as the album mix. Besides, as vocal as the
ONJ fans have been over the years on various websites about wanting
her unique 45 mixes released (The Rumour, Livin In Desperate Times,
and Totally Hot) on CD i'm certain someone would have begged for or
complained about "Twist" by now...
The timing variances come down to the fade out. Some lose part or all
of the final "Love is what we found" Livvy sings...
