my commercial 45 issued as def jam 68902, wasn't released with a picture sleeve and doesn't have a stated version on the label but has a listed run time of 3:23, while my commercial cassingle's sleeve states the version contained is the "single version" with no stated run time......both formats are identical and match the promo cd single def jam csk 1605 running 3:23....this info should be added to the db

1-7" radio edit (listed 3:23; runs 3:23)
2-12" radio edit (listed 5:16; runs 5:16)

Last week I picked up the 12" for $1. Today I found the 45 in very nice condition at a show. Does the "12" radio edit" on the promo CD differ from the 5:16 version on the vinyl 12" single?

With Aaron's help I've been able to compare a copy of the radio edit to the video version, and was surprised to find more (questionable) lyrics cut out of the music video than the radio edit.

Can anyone confirm this was the case, or were there perhaps multiple versions released to radio?

The following lyrics are missing on the music video but do exist in the radio edit I have.

(Second verse)
"...To eat it when he won't, and to lick you in places..."

"...not knowing that your main girl is biting my chunk.
I'm the type of guy that loves a dedicated lady
Their boyfriends are boring, and I can drive 'em crazy
You're the type of guy to give her money to shop
She gave me a sweater. Thank you, sweetheart..."

The radio edit I have drops the third verse entirely.

Did they really edit the lyrics more for the video than the radio single?

Yes, the video has a totally different (longer) edit than the 45 version (7" Radio Edit).

Bizarre... you'd think they'd edit the radio version as much or more than the video... or at least I would think... :-)

Thanks for the update!
