Believe it or not, this is the 1st Peter and Gordon thread.
I'm doing a "1964 in mono" CD and I can't find any info on this song. I never owned the 45 and ebay label scans don't indicate stereo or mono. Surely this song was released in mono in some form.
Has the mono mix ever appeared on CD? The database indicates at least not in the U.S.

There is a mono mix version on the import CD The Ultimate Peter &
Gordon (EMI International 24353 59312). This CD also has mono
versions of "Nobody I Know" and "I Go To Pieces."

Thanks so much, just ordered a new copy from Amazon for only $8. 'Nobody I know' is another great '64 song.
It's nice when a CD actually lives up to the moniker "The Ultimate."

Indy, you can rest assured that every Peter And Gordon 45 on the orange and yellow swirl Capitol label, with "Mfd. by Capitol Records, Inc., USA" along the bottom of the label is going to be mono.
And although they didn't do a Peter & Gordon set, another great source for all-mono mixes is EMI's A's, B's and EP's import series. I ordered the Seekers set in order to get the mono mix of "When The Stars Begin To Fall," the U.S. B-side of "Georgy Girl," with the much drier vocal. I also wanted the mono mix of "A World Of Our Own," with the acoustic guitar dominating the intro (the stereo mix intro sounds quite different, with the autoharp overpowering the guitar.) Sound quality was excellent, and although the CDs originally had copy guard, my copy did not.
