My U.S. commercial 45 of The Cookies' "Girls Grow Up Faster Than Boys" states a run time of (2:25), which is correct to within a second or two. According to the database, the song appears on three domestic CDs with run times ranging from (2:42) to (2:48). I don't have any of these three CDs, but I do have a "Made in EC" CD on the Sequel label with the same title as the Rhino CD listed in the database, The Colpix-Dimension Story, which mentions Rhino in the copyright line. My 45 is simply an early fade of the version on this CD. I can find no evidence that a Cookies LP was ever issued, so there does not appear to be an LP version/length of this song.

Has anyone been successful in creating the 45 length from the currently available CD versions? The way the song is structured it doesn't seem to just be an early fade.

i just compared my commercial 45, which, by the way,
doesn't have the same kind of logo as paul c's 45, but non-
the-less, issued as dimension 1020 with a listed run time
of 2:25 and an actual of 2:26....if you fade the full
length 2:43 version for 0:06 from 2:20 to 2:26 you'll
effectively re-create the vinyl 45
version.....ringmaster...what do you hear that says the
song ISN'T a fade?....

Pat doesn't have the four entries for this song labeled LP length or LP version. So is the 45 truly just an early fade as Ed said three years ago?

I may be wrong but I do not believe this song ever was released on a parent album.
