my commercial 45 issued as atlantic 89724 states a run time of 4:22, which is correct, but...the version from the "hits" cd needs to be faded out for the last 0:11 from 4:14 to 4:25 to match the 45 version properly...
what's unique about the 45's label is that it identifies the song on one side that is actually the other......

Ed, I take it you mean that the 45 has a quieter fade toward the end, and not that the CD version needs to be faded early. Is that correct?

By the way, I've never seen the label of this 45. I like the Looney Tunes reference.

Ed, I had to fade out my "Hits" CD to 4:21 to get it to match the fade of your 45 exactly. This is three seconds earlier than the CD version. Comparing the wave files, they fade exactly at the same point and rate, except for the last few seconds, where the 45 fades out to 4:21.

Do the 45 and LP run at different speeds? I remember many years ago when I first listened to "That's All" on Genesis' self-titled CD (Atlantic 80116) and thinking it played a bit slower than I was used to hearing it. If so, this wouldn't be the first time a Genesis/Phil Collins 45 runs faster than its CD/LP counterpart.

paul...not that i could discern.....just the fade out is a little different, but easily enough to replicate...
