Our commercial vinyl copy of "Stubborn Kind Of Fellow" by Marvin Gaye (Tamla 54068) states a time of (2:43), but actually runs (2:54).

Thanks a million, Paul, for doing all of us on the Board the favor of both pulling and timing Mr. Whitburn's original Record Research copy, to help resolve a question that had popped up during our "Complete Motown Singles Boxes" research!

Paul, simply FYI, a collector buddy of mine had a spare stock copy 45 of what he called "the rarer version" for "Stubborn Kind Of Fellow". So I bought it from him, and just timed it. But this copy (also Tamla 54068) has both a listed & actual time of (2:43). My 45's deadwax info is a machine-stamped "N8-OW 9660-1", so at least two different 1962 commercial 45's are out there.

The deadwax on our copy is DMB 007110.

jimct,

Your Tamla 45 is RCA Victor pressed. There will be a letter on it in the deadwax area indicating where it was pressed. Most likely pressed at Indianapolis, Indiana with the I mark in the deadwax. Paul Haney's copy has interesting deadwax. I would like to know about any other deadwax information on it. Tamla then also used Columbia for pressing as well. The Columbia pressings are on styrene.

In addition to the letters and numbers already mentioned, our deadwax also states "Nashville Matrix".
