Well, I must say I've been fascinated by the wealth of information provided in the database. I did own one of Pat's early versions of his book, but it was before he began to note the detailed version information, so it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I've spent every night this week checking the database out!
Anyway, I've some questions to ask my fellow collectors and some info to provide. Here goes!
IKE & TINA TURNER - IT'S GONNA WORK OUT FINE. Pat, you state the actual 45 time is (2:38) not (2:20) as stated on the record label, yet all timings of the song are in the 3:02 range. My Pop Annual states the 45 timing is 2:38. What's up with the 3:02 version? LP version?

1971 REMEMBER ME
(S) (3:17) Motown 0869 Greatest Hits. mine is mono, or rather a light "e", bought in 1993. Did they reissue this CD?
RICK NELSON
1957 HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY THAT I LOVE YOU? released as by RICKY NELSON
(M) (1:56) Capitol 29521 Legacy (Box Set) (45 version). The copy I borrowed from a friend has it stereo but I believe it is an alternate take or LP version (it is different than the mono one on Legendary Masters)
An error: Mitch Miller & His Orch. and Chorus - March From The River Kwai and Colonel Bogey (LP version) is shown as:
BOGEY 1958 MARCH FROM THE RIVER KWAI AND COLONEL. The song doesn't appear under MITCH MILLER. Also, I believe the mono and stereo versions are different recordings (or at least in part...listen to the break).

David you bring up some very interesting comments. I do not have the vinyl LP that contained Ike & Tina Turner's hit "It's Gonna Work Out fine" so I can't help you there. "Remember Me" is electronic and not stereo on my Greatest Hits cd and it is also electronic on "All The Great Hits" cd. The Rick Nelson Legacy box set is interesting in that I received an advance pressing which has "Have I Told You Lately" in mono so I will have to obtain the commercial copy before I can comment. There were a number of problems in transferring the data base over to the current format and I don't know how Mitch Miller got messed up but I will correct it. As for Hank Ballard, I only have a reissue 45 of "Let's Go" so I must get the original pressing but it appears that there might be two different mixes of this song, with different handclaps (or two by four claps as the case might be). And I never noticed before that the mono and stereo versions of "Baby Sittin' Boogie" were different but they sure are and the new entries are posted now in the database. If anyone has the mono vinyl LP of "Baby Sittin' With Buzz", please let me know if the mono LP version is the same as the 45 version.

I have obtained the commercial cd release of Rick Nelson's "Legacy" box set and I can verify that on the advance dj release, Have I Told You Lately was mono and was the single version but on the commercial release it is indeed stereo and is an alternate take.

The mono LP version of Baby Sittin' Boogie is indeed the 45 version. As David pointed out above, the stereo LP version is not the 45 version.

I have obtained the original 45 vinyl of "Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go" and compared it to all of the cd's in the database and found that yes David, the original pressings of the cd Time-Life 2RNR-11 "Rock N Roll Era 1960" are missing handclaps at the end of the song. Subsequent pressings corrected this problem. Another cd, "Spotlight On Hank Ballard & The Midnighters" added a lot of extra reverb not found on the 45.

I have just entered the Mitch Miller information in the database.
I don't see the humor in the Billy Ward entry maybe you can explain.....
With regard to the Chambers Brothers, yes there are some incorrect 45 edits floating around on compact disc like the Rhino 75754 "Even More Nuggests" cd. The Columbia 45018 "Rock Classics Of The 60's" cd has the correct eidt and running time. Many other stereo versions have the correct edit but are slower than the 45 so I will have to go through each one and post the results in the database when I have listened to all of the cd's that contain this song.

Actually the DB is incorrect and has it backwards. The stereo version on ERIC's "HTF POP INSTRUMENTALS" is not the hit 45 version. The stereo version has male chorus from 1:10-1:27. The mono hit version does not. The chorus begins at 1:27. Does anyone know whether the stereo version is an LP version or an alternate stereo version?

Bringing this forward as Robert's 2008 question on "March on the River
Kwai..." was not answered. The database indicates the stereo version to be
"stereo LP version", but I am not aware of such a parent LP having existed.
REALLY would like to know when this version first appeared.

The Mitch's Marches lp seems to have been
mono only. Was it stereo on the 1961
Mitch's Greatest Hits lp?
