The actual commercial 45 run time of New York City's "I'm Doin' Fine Now" is 2:50. (Timing info once again provided by Jim. The printed record label time is 2:48.) I'm reporting this because database CD run times for this song range from 2:42-2:51.

Stereo DJ side also runs 2:50. But the Mono DJ side runs 2:48.5. If you speed up the stereo 45 DJ side by 1.5% in Adobe Audition, you get the mono 45 DJ pitch. Sounds like
a fold down from stereo to mono. Most CD issues that I've checked so far are somewhere in between these two as far as pitch. And some CDs fade the song out a few seconds
early.

I'll add that the copy on the K-tel CD on the database is
a vinyl dub with a strange reverb added to it. Just FYI.

There are three K-Tel cd's in the database Mark and the first two are already flagged with the comment "mastered from vinyl". How about the third cd K-Tel 3900?

Oh sorry about that Pat, I forgot there was more than one K-tel CD. I can only speak for the two you have noted for vinyl. That third one 3900 I do not own.

You know you're really older when you think that younger singer Jesse McCartney's related in anyway to former Beatle Paul McCartney.

Steve:
The full version of this song runs over eight minutes?
Is that on a CD or the vinyl LP?

The 8:18 version is from Tom Moulton ‎– Philly ReGrooved
Volume 3 - Tom Moulton Remixes issued on Harmless
records in the UK in 2013.

So are you saying this was remixed in 2013 (or just when it was released on CD?) Was there a remix in 1973? If it sounds like a ' 70s remix, I'd certainly be interested in hearing and getting this. I love the song.

The Tom Moulton remixes are fairly recent and I'm positive
weren't available in 1973.

The Philly-Regrooved series is true to the 70's sound.
It wasn't done in 70's but probably completed 10 years
ago.

Hear it for yourself!

Yes, that version of I'm Doin' Fine Now sounds very fine (now) :) ... like it was done in the '70s.

Tom Moulton does a great job. It sounds like he was given access to the multi-track tape. Does anyone know if that's the case?
