There is definitely a "Radio Edit w/out Rap" on the promo CD single. Ed, doesn't your cassingle have the no rap version, too, on the b-side?

I just obtained a second issued promo CD for "Mr. Vain," which has a different rapless edit. Most of the song is the same as the "Radio Edit (w/o Rap)," but there are a few parts that have different music. Perhaps they were both edited from a longer mix and use different parts. Here's the info:
BSK 5552
1. Lone Star Edit (listed 3:30; actual 3:32)
Time permitting, I will pull the other promo CD single and list the details.

For whatever reason, The 90s On 9 plays the rapless edit, which is such an absurd mix, the mix just comes as an instrumental.
Miami's Power 96 used to play THE best mix, which I have never been able to track down.
It's pretty much like the Radio Edit, with the addition of Tania's ad-libs ('yeah ooooooooooh...'). You can find those ad-libs on the 'Mr. Intense Mix').

Here are further details on the stock and promo CDs I have:
46K 77214
1. Radio Edit (listed 4:17; actual 4:18)
2. Intense Radio Edit (listed 3:52; actual 3:53)
3. Vain Mix (listed & actual 6:35)
4. Mr. Intense (listed 5:28; actual 5:27)
5. Mr. Hardcore (listed 6:38; actual 6:37)
BSK 77259
1. Radio Edit (listed & actual 4:17)
2. Radio Edit (w/o Rap) (listed & actual 4:17)
3. Intense Radio Edit (listed 3:52; actual 3:53)
The version we played at the station where I worked was always the "Radio Edit (w/o Rap)," which appears to be the same as what jimct's former station played. There's a noticeable edit at 0:50 of this version, so perhaps that was one of the reasons for issuing the Lone Star Edit on the second promo CD. This edit tightens up the song a bit by trimming 45 seconds and has a better edit point after the first chorus. It also uses part of the Vain Mix from 1:48 to 2:17, which is not found in the other Radio Edits. The Vain Mix is the same basic mix as the Radio Edit but longer and with a different intro.
