Database CD entries containing the hit version of Brandy's "Sittin' up in My Room" runs 4:49-4:50. I have the song on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio subscription CD series, but it only clocks in at 3:58. I'm wondering if this may be an official radio edit. Does anyone have a promo single of "Sittin' up in My Room" who can relay the track listing and run time information?

Todd, I don't currently have a promo CD single for this one, but I have just found/tried to order a US promo "Remixes" CD single from GEMM (MUCH harder to do than for eBay/Amazon/Musicstack, in my opinion.) Hopefully I did it correctly, will be receiving it soon, and I will report on its contents if/when I receive it.

My U.S. commercial 7-inch single is the "radio edit" with a stated time of 3:53, but it actually runs 3:58. However, I vaguely recall that not all commercial single configurations contained the same version. (I would advise against relying on my vague recollections, including the one that there were two different cassette singles with different catalogue numbers, one containing the radio edit and the other a remix featuring LL Cool J.)

There were two separate commercial two-track CD singles for this song -- a standard and a remix single. I own both, but am at work and won't be home till late. I'll give you the timings if no one has by the time I get home.

There definitely is a promo CD single with the 3:58 radio edit, but I don't own it. I have one of the 2-track commercial CD singles that Brian mentioned. It's the remix version. Track 1 is the Doug Raheed Remix, and track 2 is the full-length album version.

gentleman.......my promo cd single issued as arista ascd-2929 contains two tracks
1-radio edit (listed 3:53 ,actual 3:58)
2-lp version (listed 4:52, actual 4:49)

i have 2 cassingles for this song...first is the regular commercial cassingle issued as
arista 12929

second is the remix cassingle issued as
arista 12972

Is the Doug Rasheed Remix the same as the radio edit? Or is the radio edit an album version edit?

should this entry actually say "2" cassette singles and not "3"....i only know of 2
1996 - SITTIN' UP IN MY ROOM (dj copies of this cd single run (3:58) the "radio edit" not (3:53) as stated on the cd and (4:49) the "LP version" not (4:52) as stated on the cd; there were 2 different commercial cd singles issued for this song, one running (4:49) the "LP version" and the other running (3:54) the "Doug Rasheed remix"; there were also 3 different cassette singles, one running (4:52) the "LP version" and one running (3:53) the "Doug Rasheed remix featuring LL Cool J" )
