Pat, Ed's 1995 Az query was at the very top of a 12-box stack of promo CD singles, but my 1996 P CD singles (which contains Champagne Supernova, of course) is at the very bottom of this same stack, as luck would have it. Heavy lifting is a problem for me. So, if no one can help you with it in the meantime, I'll make a note to pull it/provide timing details the next time I happen to be all the way down at the bottom of that stack.

I don't have the single, but I seem to recall it being a much different mix than the album version.

I have a copy from a TM Century HitDisc, and I do not hear any mix differences from the album version. The "Radio Edit" fades in about 10 seconds before the vocal starts, and it fades out early. The run time is 5:06.

I don't recall ever hearing a version that was a different mix.

I have it from a Promo Only cd. I can further investigate if that's helpful. Off the top of my head, the album version is VERY long, while the version from Promo Only is much more manageable, although still pretty long for a radio cut. Other than longer and shorter, I don't recall any mix differences, but I don't have the ear for detail many of the other members here have exhibited.

Happy to analyze if someone wants to shoot me a copy of the radio edit.

after looking up and down i thought i had the us promo cd single, but i actually have the australian commercial cd single issued as helter skelter/sony 663344-1 with the below listed tracks

1-radio edit (5:08)
2-album version (7:31)
3-slide away (6:29)

the radio edit has the first vocal at the 0:10 mark of the song.....if anyone needs the radio edit for comparison, please just email me and i'll send it on out....edtop40

It looks like a bunch of yesterday's posts have vaporized today, so to repost:

I listened to Ed's radio edit side by side with the "Morning Glory" CD version and found that the radio edit is just the LP version faded in late (from about 0:23-0:27 on the LP) and faded out early (from 5:19 to 5:27).

To my ear, the mixes sound the same. Visually, however, it looks like the radio edit is compressed (screenshots available if you want).

Pat, knocked off the first 10 of about 30 threads I can add details for tonight (more to come), including dredging up that buried 1996 promo CD singles box for you. Here is my promo CD single info for this one:

Oasis-"Champagne Supernova" (ESK 7719) (no listed times)
1-Radio Edit (actual 5:06)
2-Album Version (actual 7:27)
