When my old top 40 station played this as a current, we played the "Film Mix," but it was several seconds shorter than what is on my Promo Only compilation. (My disc actually runs 4:19, so I'm pretty sure they faded the true single version about 5 seconds early.) The copy we played was closer to 4:05.

Does anyone have a promo CD that might have this slightly shorter version?

Aaron, I don't. The "Film Mix" version that appears on both my commercial CD single (Curb D2-73022) and the promo CD single info that will follow both include a version with a listed time of (4:25) and an actual time of (4:24). FYI, we actually received two different promo CD singles into the station for this song back in 1997, and here are all the particulars:

-LeAnn Rimes-"How Do I Live" (two stock #'s: CURB D-1378 and PRCD-8184)
1-Film Mix (listed 4:25; actual 4:24)

-LeAnn Rimes-"How Do I Live" Dance Mix (again, two stock #'s: CURB D-1432 and PRCD-8429)
1-Mr. Mig Remix (Dance Radio Edit) (listed & actual 3:54)
2-Mr. Mig Remix (Club Radio Edit) (listed & actual 4:15)
3-RH Factor Radio Edit (listed 3:45; actual 3:44)
4-RH Factor Club Vocal (listed & actual 9:11)
5-Mr. Mig Remix (Club Mix) (listed 7:37; actual 7:36)

Thanks again, Jim! TM Century lists both the "Film Mix" and "Country Mix" with air times of 3:55. (For songs that fade out, this would mean the run time is approximately 4:05.) I don't remember if my old station played the actual promo CD for this or not. We used a combination of promo singles and radio compilation discs in the on-air studio, and my memory is hazy for this track.

Pat, I noticed when you recently updated your db with my promo CD single info, you made a typo. Above, I specified that some of the remixes started with "Mr. Mig". This information was correct, and was not a typo on my part. But in your db, you currently have these mixes wrongly listed as "Mr. Big" remixes, just FYI...

Jim, I don't know what you are seeing in the database but what I see are "Mr. Big remix - dance radio edit" and "Mr. Big remix - club radio edit".

It should be Mig with an "M", not Big with a "B". I initially misread it as "Big" too.

I'm looking at the promo CD singles I have for this track, and I can put an end to the mystery about the slightly shorter version that we played on the air. In addition to the factory-pressed promo CD singles that Jim lists above, Curb sent out some CD-R promos on Quantegy brand discs. There is a non-described version on this promo CD with an actual run time of 4:11. After seeing the disc all these years later, I can say with certainty that this is the same CD-R promo that my old station played the song from during it's top 40 chart run.

Here's something else that I found interesting. The 2-track stock CD single was issued with two different track lineups. The one I have contains:

1. Film Mix (listed 4:25; actual 4:24)
2. Mr. Mig Remix (Dance Radio Edit) (listed 3:50; actual 3:53)

I thought it was slightly strange that the cardboard cover says "Extended Mix" on the back side, yet there was no version on the disc with this label. After quick glance at the matrix number, I discovered "RE-1" listed at the end of it. In doing some online research, I also discovered that there are pressings of this CD single with the following track list:

1. non-described version (listed 4:25)
2. Extended Mix (listed 4:56)

Nothing earth shattering, but it's at least worth noting.
