my commercial 45 issued as warner 27891 of the van halen song "black and blue" states the version on the 45 as "fade" with a listed run time of 4:59 and actually does run 4:59....my cdr copy of the promo cd single also states the version and run time as "fade" and 4:59, but actually runs 5:04....if you fade from 4:56 to 4:59 of that version you'll re-create the true 45 version.....this info s/b added to the db....

Talk about a fast fadeout...is it really only 3 seconds?

John, he's talking about doing an additional amount of fading to a song that was almost already faded out. The promo CD single version he references runs 5:04, so I would imagine it's mostly faded out by the 4:59 mark.

yes, that's what i'm talking about.....it seems the promo cd single is just a little off, running a few seconds LONGER than the vinyl 45.....so if you fade the fade from the promo cd single, you'll have it....btw, john.....i sent you my recreation last nite....ed
