The version of "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz that appears on the Now 36 cd is a remix of the album version. Is this remix a promo only remix?

I have a mix matching the Now disc's time called the 'Alternate Mix'.

It was obtained from an online radio music provider.

It's the version released to radio and used in the video. I don't think it was released on any of the singles.
The same thing happened with his single Dirty Picture. It got a re-edited intro.

Is the album version clean? The copy I have starts with the filtered drum machine followed by the first verse, and it censors the "f" word in the 2nd verse. The radio stations here in town all play the video version, though, that starts with an instrumental intro followed by the first half of the chorus.

Yes on the LP version, the F word is somewhat censored at the 1:15 mark.

I was just positive that there was never a domestic stand-alone single for "Dynamite," but I guess I was wrong. Both Napster and Rhapsody still offer it, though it seems to be gone or never available at iTunes and Amazon.

Correction: The stand-alone single is still available for STREAMING on Napster and Rhapsody, not for purchase. Rhapsody doesn't have a purchase button for the song, and when I try to purchase it on Napster, it says, "At the copyright owners' request, the following track(s) are not currently available for purchase. 1 of your 1 tracks are not available for purchase."

That said, listening to the streaming, the stand-alone single appears to be identical to the album version, complete with the censored "slowed tape" effect over the F-word at 1:15.

Does the 3:36 remix of Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" exist on an official promo CD single release, or was it only made available to Top 40 stations via an online digital download provider? Since this version appears on the Now 36 CD and is receiving Top 40 airplay, I'm wondering it would be more helpful for database subscribers to have this version listed with a "radio remix" comment?

I've seen promo copies on eBay that looked like they were official record company CD-Rs. "DJ edit" might be more appropriate of a description. I don't think it's really a remix, since it's exactly the same as the album version after the first verse starts.

Yeah, I've seen that CD-R, too, but there's another one that only has 1-track. It's not the album version, and I don't think it was called "Alternate Mix" either. The descriptor made reference to the intro--maybe "Better Intro" version?

Promo Only's digital service has the NOW / Alternate / Video mix labeled as: Promo Only Clean Edit. They did an extra edit to clean up the F-word and removed it completely.

I bought a copy of the official Mercury CD-R and received it today. It has one track and is called the "Extended Intro Version." The listed time is 3:42 and actual time is 3:37. The database CDs that currently say "remix" and run 3:36 contain this radio version.

10 years later what made you interested in buying it? Just curious...
