Interesting! I have the same CD, but the copyright date
is 1992. It says on the disc that all tracks are
licensed from Rhino, which is a little odd for a Sony
disc.
FYI - Here are my notes from that disc:
Ring My Bell - digitally identical to Rhino's Get Down
Tonight (1990)
Do What You Wanna Do - high-generation tape source
Do Ya Wanna Get Funky With Me - digitally exactly 1.4 dB
quieter than Rhino's Get Down Tonight (1990)
Party Down - different mastering than Rhino's Get Down
Tonight (1990); tape drag at beginning?
Boogie Shoes - digitally exactly 0.8 dB quieter than
Rhino's The Best Of (1990)
Dance Across The Floor - sound horrible and hissy; awful
edit of LP version; about 2% too fast
Get Off - digitally exactly 1 dB quieter than Rhino's Get
Down Tonight (1990)
I was particularly disappointed with the Jimmy "Bo" Horne
track, which here is one of the worst-sounding tracks on
any CD I've ever heard.
