after years, I finally landed a copy of the "The History Mix Volume 1", and
I think perhaps it should be noted in the database that the near 19
minute version of "cry" is actually the final part of a medley of "recycled"
10CC songs entitled "Wet Rubber Soup." The actual song cry doesn't
begin until about 12 minutes and 30 seconds into the track. it's not a 19
minute version of Cry.

Can the single version be cut from the medley?

It is, and I finally found a copy... I just had access to the album version last night and thought I'd see if it could be done.

FYI, I have the 45 version on A List Disc 37 (1994,
taken from vinyl), on the Sony import 2-CD Pop And Wave
Vol. 5 (1994), and on Realm's 3-CD Greatest Hits Of
The '80s Vol. 3 (2002). None are very easy to find
nowadays...
