I do not own a promo 45 for this song. Does anyone else here have one? I
was just able to buy a promo 12" single for this, for a great price. It has the
listed (3:58) (Edit) on one side, and the listed (5:36) (Long Version) on the
other. The latter simply appears to be the LP Version, as db appearances are
within seconds of the longer side's length..

I only ask about the promo 45's contents, because I'd say the WB/Associated
labels supplied us with far more promo-only, 12" singles in the 80's, than
any other major label. And the vast majority of the time (although not 100%),
they exactly mirrored the contents of the label's promo 45. Therefore, I'm
wondering if that is the case here as well. Or did both sides of the promo 45
feature the edit?

I don't have the promo 45 either, Jim. We were only serviced with stock copies, which were among the first styrene Warner 45s to arrive from Allied Records, the L.A. pressing plant Capitol found itself owning as a result of the United Artists Music & Records Group meltdown. The Allied plant was later purchased by WEA.

Those same styrene stock 45s were in the files at the other stations I worked at.
