So sad! She was the original voice and such an inspiration for my love
of Top40! Does anyone remember spinning "Saving All My Love" or
"Greatest Love of All" when they were first issued?

No, but Drudge Report is saying she died at the Beverly Hills Hotel, not at home, so I think we can pretty much read between the lines. Maybe not.

I remember hearing "You Give Good Love" on the radio as it was climbing the charts in 1985. The radio announcer called her the "next big thing". I bought the LP & marveled at her voice. How she ruled the charts from 1985-1993! RIP Whitney.

RIP Whitney, one of the greatest voices of all. It's so sad, so tragic. I bought Whitney's first album the first day it was released. I was in Tower Records in Washington DC, and I remember the day so well. Though I went in there specifically to buy the album, I was surprised when the store actually started playing the album shortly after I came in. It seemed like hardly anyone knew who she was then (her first solo single "You Give Good Love" didn't debut on the pop charts until almost 2 months later.) And the album debuted low (like at #150 or something). So I always felt I was one of Whitney's FIRST fans ... before the whole world caught on. I was floored by her voice and found the songs amazing. I had anticipated the album because I knew there were 4 Michael Masser ballads on there. The album had such great songs. "All At Once" had a great performance and a beautiful melody. "Saving All My Love For You" was unique and a real standout on the album. "Greatest Love of All" and "How Will I Know" also floored me. So many times I've bought great albums and yet they never caught on, nor did the artist. I was so thrilled that this album eventually sold over 20 million worldwide. A true talent who deserved all the awards and success she had. We will miss you terribly, Whitney.
