my commercial 45 for the bill haley song "see you later,
alligator" issued as decca 29791 is in mono and is
perfectly centered.....my import cd "classic bill haley &
his comets: the universal masters collection" has the track
pushed all the way in the left channel.....do all the db
entries have this anomaly?.....thanks john for doing the
correction!!!

It sounds like you have a CD where "See You Later, Alligator" was mixed into electronically rechannelled "stereo" (also known as "fake stereo") because your description exactly matches how the song sounds on my Bill Haley & His Comets Millennium German import CD (Universal International 112187).

Fortunately, nearly every database CD containing "See You Later, Alligator" is in its correct original mono mix and therefore the audio is properly centered.
