all the db entries contain the note 'stereo lp

and the 'stereo lp version'?

Ed - I bumped an old thread regarding this song up for you. Pat said
there was an " Ooh " at 2:11 of the LP version not on the 45, and that it
is a different vocal take as well..

Ed,
if you can, shoot me a 45 dub of this one as well. I'll
do another synch check, now I'm curious on this one!
In all my years with BSN, i've read about "Take Me Back"
being an alternate take in stereo, but no one pointed out
this one.

Ok
thanks again to Ed for providing this 45 for comparison.
This one was more fun to make the "demo synch" file
because the stereo LP version is indeed NOT the hit 45
version.
It was very difficult to keep the 2 versions in synch, so
both the vocal and backing track are alternate takes.
Here is the synch demo file, if you'd like to sample it:
http://www.4shared.com/mp3/q4Xsn6sn/Little_Anthony_-
_Goin_Out_Of_M.html
In the demo, the stereo LP version (folded to mono) is in
the left channel, and the mono 45 dub is in the right.
When a demo synchs 2 items that are identical, it sounds
much like one copy that is sort of "re-channeled" stereo.
In this case, when you synch 2 different takes or
recordings, it sounds like a double-tracked lead. The
vocal differences between left-right are much easier to
spot this way. I'm blown away by all the ending ad-
libs...they are very different on the 45.

mark sent me his re-creation of the mono version and it's
spot on...except its one second quicker which i had to
adjust with pitch control so it now matches
perfectly and runs 2:29......thx mark!!!

For those collectors out there that may still be hunting down the original and unique mono 45 version of this mid 60s top 10 hit it has been added to an Eric Records CD that was recently remastered. When the disc was first released in 2001 it did not have this song on it, but since some of the original tracks had to be replaced this time they included this classic. You can order it now and get the remastered disc shipped to you direct. Here is the link: http://ericrecords.com/htf_07-re.html - http://ericrecords.com/htf_07-re.html

Santi Paradoa, thank you for sharing the information on
where to get the mono single of the song.
The Eric Records release will be money well spent.
