Hello, everyone, I am new here, having stumbled in while ago researching -you guessed it - the availability of a single version of a song! I've been lurking for a few months and I am astounded at everybody's knowledge and ability to edit songs on your own!

I have discovered the locations of hundreds of single versions of songs through this forum and Pat's database. I had no idea there were so many people out there like me that NEED to have the original hit versions of the songs we heard on the radio. Not being a DJ, I can't contribute to conversations or share old 45 versions of songs with you, but I do have a large collection of "single versions" and I am happy to share them with you if there is anything you don't have, and thanks to Pat's database, I have added many more to my collection at some little co$t! LOL! I must admit to be green with envy over the many songs you have all seemed to have found or made yourselves that I don't think I will ever be able to find or edit on my own.

Anyway, I look forward to adding my two cents here and there, but in the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the many posts and research you have all contributed!

Dale In Edmonton (that's in Canada, eh!)

Welcome aboard, Dale! It looks like Pat's vinyl- and CD-clad "gingerbread" house has reeled in another vict... er, customer! ;)

Welcome, Dale!

Lurk around here a bit and you'll learn that a lot of us
have certain areas of expertise that we're always willing
to share. Whether it's having a huge number of promo and
commercial 45s, being able to reproduce the 45 edits from
more common LP versions, tracing mastering histories
through a variety of compilation CDs, we pretty much have
your bases covered.

And we won't make fun of you for liking New Kids On The
Block, Milli Vanilli or Vanilla Ice, all of whom have
songs that have been treated to actual, informational
threads here.

Hello! I have noticed people here calling you "Crap", but I don't know you well enough to do that, so I will just call you CFTP for now, LOL! And I have to tell you that I have visited your website many times and it has been invaluable to my research. I never figured that I would get to tell you this, but being Canadian I am familiar with Silver Eagle Records, Polytel and Quality - they were the ONLY places that I could find single versions of Top 40 hits on CD back in the dark ages of the late 80's! I still have a bunch of those CDs in boxes someplace.

I appreciate your friendly welcome and look forward to discussing and unearthing single versions of songs. :)

Yeah, that database has ruined my life. Since discovering it, I don't see friends anymore, my house is a mess, and my dog ran away. I have no regrets. ;)

Welcome, Dale! And as you can probably already tell, there's no detail that's considered too small for discussion on this forum. ;-)
