Hope someone can unconfuse me. I have the Johnny Rivers Anthology with a version of "Rockin' Pneumonia & The Boogie Woogie Flu" running (3:11). I saw the comments regarding some pressings of the 45 running (2:52) instead of the printed (3:30). I do recall hearing a version on the radio in early 1973 that edited the intro in the exact same way as on the Anthology CD, but I don't recall whether that version ran (2:52). So is it fair to say that the version on the Anthology CD (and the My Girl soundtrack) is the (2:52) version with a 19 second longer fade, or is the (2:52) version a completely different edit (or early fade) of the (3:25-3:30) version?

my 45 runs 3:28 and the version from the anthology is
definitely an edit of the 45 version..........would you
like an mp3 of the actual 45 to compare???

The (3:11) versions of this song on cd are the "short" 45 version but :19 longer.

That's okay, Ed. Pat gave me the answer I was looking for, and I've heard the full-length 45 a bunch of times over the years. Maybe next time, though.

The song was on the My Girl 2 soundtrack, not the original. I was confused for a minute since I used to have the original movie soundtrack and didnt remember the song being on it....then i checked both on Amazon. Since i no longer have the original soundtrack and i liked it, ill have to order a new copy of it sometime.

Sorry to confuse you. My bad. Didn't see the "2" in the database.

7 years later, I'm also asking for the fade points for the
short 45 version.

Add 2 more years to this request...
Interesting, YouTube has a version with the full intro that fades at 3:19 - this
length has not been mentioned here nor in the database as of yet. It is sourced
from vinyl, but of course unknown if what is pictured is what is playing.

Hi David,
I only have an mp3 copy (thought I had a flac in my archives)
but the fade appears to be from 2:41-2:52.
