Commercial 45 copies of Giorgio's "Son of My Father" have an actual run time of 3:36, not 3:42 as stated on the record label. (Thanks go out to our good friend Jim for relaying this info.) Interestingly, the lone database CD entry containing this song runs 3:42.

The track from Rhino's HAND Vol. 7 CD has some significant phasing issues (aside the intended ones, lol) which turn it to mud when summed to mono.

The Dunhill 45, on the other hand, sums to mono just fine. "Son Of My Father" was the first stock Dunhill 45 I ever encountered that was in stereo.

Indeed, the Rhino has major phase issues. I replaced the Rhino CD rip in the station library with a needledrop of the Dunhill single. The recording originates from Stop International Records in Germany.

I'm very surprised that any station is playing SOMF today...don't remember it getting all that much airplay even back in 1972...we didn't play it where I worked, nor did any of the Boston-area Top 40s.

My promo of this is double A-side, stereo on both sides (though not noted as such). Most, if not all other Dunhill promos were mono/stereo.

We play it, people ask for it occasionally. Usually gets played once a day.
