Over the weekend, I uploaded Steely Dan's "Hey Nineteen" from a CD source onto my computer and reworked the fade so that the song's run time length exactly matches the commercial 45. While working on it, I got to wondering... Isn't there a shorter DJ edit for this song? I'm almost certain I've heard "Hey Nineteen" on the radio with portions of the instrumental passages edited out. The database doesn't show any information regarding a DJ edit. Does anyone know if one exists?

I have heard that too - I believe it may be one of those Ronco or K-Tel edits that we heard on the radio many years ago.

I'm not aware of a version that's shorter than the commercial 45 that has the timing listed as 4:30 but really clocks in at 4:44. That version was simply faded early. The LP version runs 5:06.
