Sorry I know it's not a Top 40 hit, but I don't know where else to ask this but
the experts on this board. The mono version from "The Complete Liberty
Singles" has crowd overdubs whereas the versions from "All The Hits From
Surf City To Drag City" and "Surf City, The Best Of Jan And Dean" do not.
Does anyone know what version is on the 1965 LP "Golden Hits Volume 2"
(stereo and/or mono LP).

I did not hear any crowd-noise on my (mono) copy.
Speaking of the "Golden Hits Vol 2" LP...what's up with
the alternate take of "Dead Man's Curve"...was that the
original album version?

There's no crowd noise on my "...visual sound STEREO" Golden Hits Volume 2 LP, either (the song is titled simply "From All Over The World" on both the jacket and label.)
That's the original Drag City LP version of 'Dead Man's Curve" on GHv2. The hit version was on the Dead Man's Curve/The New Girl In School LP, which followed the Drag City LP by only some four months. Whether it was Jan or Dean who had the tendency to sing flat, it's quite noticeable on the original DC take. The vocal on the later (hit) take was much more on key.

"(Here They Come) From All Over The World" was released on 45 to capitalize on Jan and Dean's appearances on "The T.A.M.I show". It is also featured on the LP "Command Performance Jan and Dean/Live in Person" with audience effects. (Also to cash in on T.A.M.I..) The entire Command Performance LP sounds like it was recorded in a studio and then played back in a concert setting to record audience effects. It's obviously PF Sloan on Sidewalk Surfin on this "live LP" (instead of Dean, just like the single) and Jan is double tracked on many of the "live" songs.
So this 45 was an attempt to re-create a live sound to cash in on T.A.M.I. But it wasn't really a live recording.
"(Here They Come)From All Over The World" has yet a different name on the Command Performance LP, "Theme From the TAMI Show (Here They Come From All Over The World)".
When Golden Hits 2 was prepared somebody must have decided to mix out the fake audience, maybe because it didn't fit the rest of the "hits" album as it would be the only "live" track.
"Dead Man's Curve" is similar to "Help Me Rhonda" and "No Time" where somebody decided it might be a hit if recorded better.
