Ok,
I couldn't find a thread on this one specifically...
does anyone know if the 45 version is merely an edit of
the Mercury LP version?
Paul C also mentioned a version that appears on the Ace
CD "Golden Age Of American R&R: Novelty Edition" that
seems to have alternate lyrics for the UK market. I
wondered if anyone ever confirmed it was the UK 45
version.... but i'm gathering it is definitely NOT the
U.S. 45 version?
Thanks in advance for any info

The U.S. 45 is an edit of the full length version, but as I do not have the album, I can't comment on whether or not the full length version is on the LP. I think the 45 also has additional reverb not on the stereo mix.
I can confirm that the version on Golden Age Of American R&R: Novelty Edition is the UK 45 version as issued on Mercury 45 AMT 1184.
------------- Live in stereo.

2:47 and does indeed run that length and is an edit of the

converting to mono....outstanding work!!!..this 45 run time

FYI: the US 45 edit has finally been released on CD (and in
stereo) on Hard To Find Jukebox Classics 1963: Rock, Rhythm
& Pop (on the Hit Parade label).
