According to my research, there was a promo CD single release for Janet Jackson's "Any Time, Any Place" on Virgin DPRO-14151 containing the following track listing and reported run times for this song:
1) R. Kelly Single Edit - 4:35
2) D & D House Mix - 7:33
3) Album Mix - 7:08
Can anyone in possession of a copy please confirm the actual run times? I would think the "D&D House Mix" would've gotten very little, if any, Top 40 radio airplay, especially given the 7:33 length. That said, this track may not warrant inclusion in the database. Also, this DJ CD single release contains two additional non-related tracks: 4) "Throb" (4:34), and 5) "And On And On" (4:48).

Todd, I have the promo CD single, and I will post its details shortly. Our
station did spin "And On And On" in light rotation. I believe several
other top 40 stations across the country were doing the same thing,
although I don't recall if the song cracked the top 40 airplay chart.

Thanks, Aaron. I take it, the non-described version is actually the album version?
And, yes, "And On and On" did receive some Top 40 radio airplay, as evidenced by the song's listing as the B-side of "Any Time, Any Place" on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

I can only assume it's the album version. I don't own the full-length
album to check.

Aaron -
And On And On did make #38 on the airplay chart.

This always seemed like a tough one for Mainstream Top 40 stations.
Does anyone recall what version CHR played at the time? Or what was
featured on the Countdown shows?
I have a feeling it was the R Kelly Mix, but I vaguely recall that laborious LP
version being played in various markets (?)

I can only speak as a Top 40 radio listener at the time, but the R. Kelly
Mix or R. Kelly Edit was definitely what I heard on-air in the
Birmingham, AL market.
FWIW, there is another radio-length mix (around 4:30 IIRC) called “Jam
& Lewis Mix” that was available on Promo 12” in the US and Promo CD
elsewhere. It is the closest thing that exists to a “short” version of the
LP Version, although there are some mix differences. I think I heard
this version on our less adventurous Top 40 in my backwater
hometown.
PS: If this has not been answered elsewhere, yes, the long version
from the 5-track promo CD is the album version.

I only ever heard the "R. Kelly Single Edit" on the
radio. However, I remember MTV playing the promo video
that used the album version mix.
