I notice the run time for Robert Palmer's "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" on CD ranges anywhere from 3:33 to 3:44. I consulted Ed regarding the vinyl 45 run time and he informs me the 45 runs 3:43 just like on the parent LP/CD. This might warrant a mention in the database.

I have a hunch: the versions that run 3:42-3:43 are the
original mix found on the LP and the 45, and the versions
that run 3:35 originate from a remix on Addictions
Volume 2
.

I don't have the Addictions CD, but I do have
Time-Life's Sounds Of The Eighties - The Rockin'
Eighties
, which also runs 3:35, and to my ears it
sounds like a remix. Same performance, same
instrumentation, but a new mix.

(Can anyone confirm that the singles from Riptide
were edits and not remixes? And does anyone know why my
posts have the short lines and line breaks in them? Is
it an artifact of Google Chrome?)

"Addicted to Love" is an edit. That much I am certain of.

Also, I believe there is a coding issue with the forum that causes hard
returns in the middle of paragraphs when using certain browsers. IE
and Firefox don't seem to have issues; however Safari (and now
Chrome gets added to the list) has always has this problem.

The hard returns are always placed at the point where the line wraps
in the message box.

Hyperactive and Discipline Of Love, the other 2 singles from Riptide were also edits.
