my commercial 45 for the sir douglas quintet song 'the
rains came' issued as tribe 8314 list the run time on the
label as 2:13 but actually runs 2:12 and fades out to the
2:12 mark while the cd versions play at full volume and
end cold at 2:12....if you fade for 0:13 from 1:59 to 2:12
you can effectively re-create the proper vinyl 45
version...this info needs to be reflected in the db....

My copy of Tribe 8314 (Matrix HM-98035-ID) differs from Ed's in that it only runs (2:08). The song has completely faded out by then.

I don't detect a speed difference between the 45 and the (2:12) CD version. The 45 simply fades out, whereas the CD version ends cold.

On ACE UK's The London American Label Year By Year 1966, the song runs (2:06), due to a slightly earlier end to the fade.
