It was a top 5 single in the UK, but only peaked at #50 in the US in 1980.
The version on The Right Stuff's Sedated In The '80s Vol. 1 (1993) was probably the first version to appear on CD. Unfortunately, it has a slight hum. There's a digital clone on Time-Life's 2-CD Modern Rock Vol. 2 1980-1981 (1999; 1 dB quieter). Avoid.
The version on Priority's Rock Of The '80s Vol. 4 (1993) seems to use the same analog transfer as Sedated, but gets rid of the hum. This is my preferred version of the song.
The version on Rhino's Just Can't Get Enough Vol. 1 (1994) has tape alignment problems. It gets warbly when summed to mono. There's a digital clone on Simitar's Number Ones: The '80s (1998; different EQ). Avoid both.
There's a compressed, shrilly-EQ'd version on Disky's 8-CD Greatest Hits Of The '70s (2000), which also truncates the fade. Avoid.
Finally, I have a version running about 6:35 on Sony's Wall Street's Greatest Hits (1994). Not sure if this is the true 12" version or not.

Just for contrast, the song spent a couple of weeks in Cash
Box's top 40 in early 1980, making it to #34. It only made
it to #61 in Record World.
