i just picked up the promo cd single for the ruben
studdard song 'sorry 2004' issued as j records 'j1dj-57204-2' and it contains the below tracks 1-radio edit (listed 4:02; actual 4:21) 2-instrumental (listed 4:02; actual 4:20) 3-call out hook (listed 0:10; actual 0:12) this bodes the question. the db lists all the 4:20-4:21 versions as 'lp version'.....since pat was probably going off the listed running time of the promo as 4:02 to assume there was a difference....but, was there ever a shorter version of the song actually issued? ------------- edtop40 |

| The only single format in which this song was commercially released in the U.S. was as a 7-inch single. Its label also gives incorrect information. The label of my copy states that it is the "Radio Version" running (4:02), but it is actually the full album version. The version on the "Promo Only" series is also the full album version. So there's no evidence yet that this mysterious (4:02) edit was ever actually issued. |

I can confirm no 4:02 version exists. I can confirm that putting the year after a song title is probably a way to ensure your song is very outdated years later though... ------------- Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD." |
