Has anybody got any good quality vinyl rips of "Best Of My Love" and "One Of These Nights" by The Eagles. I've managed to find them in 256kbps but hoping for maybe better sound quality?

I was revisiting the "One of These Nights" thread, and it never quite specified the edit points. One that never seems to be mentioned is the removal of the initial 17 seconds of the LP version, and that's the way I remembered the 45 rpm disc. Did I remember correctly?

The 45 versions of "Best Of My Love", "One Of These Nights", and "Take It To The Limit" were released today on the new Legacy box set, which also includes the 45 versions of "Take It Easy" and "Lyin' Eyes", both previously released but only digitally. Unfortunately, for some reason they have not included the 45 version of "Witchy Woman".

Yes - the Legacy set misses "Witchy Woman" and "Certain Kind of Fool" (the 45 b-side has a longer resolve with no crossfade) - don't recall off the top of my head if there are more omissions. And the 'single edit' of "Best of My Love" is incorrect! The original 45 has a heinous edit at the 3:07 mark, so this is likely a deliberate attempt to right that wrong, but the bottom line is that it's not the proper version. I haven't listened to every cut yet to verify accuracy. On the plus side, you do get the clean, non-crossfaded intro for "Outlaw Man", and the stereo mix of "Get You in the Mood".

It's a shame that Best of My Love is the incorrect 45 version. Hopefully the
rest are the original 45's.

Would've been nice to have single edit of "Witchy
Woman". All the work on the set and they missed that
one!

Are all ten of the tracks on the Singles & B-Sides disc in the Legacy Box stereo?

That's a BIG box set. You would have to be a huge fan of the Eagles or really want those few single edits badly to buy a 14-disc set. The disc with single versions and B-sides only has 10 tracks, so there was definitely missed opportunity. In addition to "Witchy Woman," it's also missing the following single versions/lengths:

Already Gone
EDIT: New Kid In Town
Hotel California
I Can't Tell You Why
Seven Bridges Road

For anyone needing those edits and not wanting to spend $130+, feel free to PM me. I've had my own custom edits of those tracks for quite a long time.

And the mono version is a simple fold-down rather than a dedicated mix. There is one edit toward the end of the song and a slight pitch difference, too.

I just streamed the single edit from the box set, and it matches my 45 exactly, including the edit point at 3:07. What's incorrect about it?

Hate to be the title police here, but my OCD is kicking in
this morning. :) It's "New Kid In Town" no "The".

If I remember those are just early fades for those
singles.
Witchy Woman has one edit if I remember toward the end.
Would've been nice to include.
I have a MP3 of actual single rip of Best Of My Love and
the only edit I hear is at 3:11. Not very smooth, but
not jarring. And the cut on the CD is the same to my
ears.

Early fades, yes, but why not include them when the disc is only half
full?

Pat just added the listing in the online database for the 45 edit and listed it as stereo.

Wish could get that answered.
The guess is who put it together wasn't worried about
it.
Some of these sets are always half way done, the way I
see it. Miss important tracks, no matter the artist.

"Best of my love" had one on "But here in my heart I
give you the Best of my love" (final verse right before
final choruses) then in the fade, second final chorus
deleted so it skips to "Every night and day.."!!

You know you're really older when you think that younger singer Jesse McCartney's related in anyway to former Beatle Paul McCartney.

I used an online music delivery service (not the CD) as my initial source for compare, and presumed their copy was a direct rip/copy of what is available commercially on the new set. Instead, theirs inexplicably has an alternate edit of "Best of My Love" that does not match the commercial 45. I just auditioned a second streaming source, and sure enough that version does indeed match the 45. So WTF, you know?? Perhaps someone who has the CD can confirm they used the correct edit. (Incidentally, the online service also has the single version of "Take It Easy" in stereo.)

I just checked Spotify and the Take It Easy single edit is
in mono there. iTunes doesn't have the Legacy set nor does
Napster.

Actually iTunes has had the Legacy set for some time now. The single versions
are available on iTunes.
