Another shot in the dark here. A Xmas record that doesn't get any airplay to my knowledge, it was released on Roberta Flack's "Blue Lights in the Basement" LP/CD
(same LP that has "The Closer I Get To You") in its full version, running (4:33). A promo 45 was released for this in 1977, with the "short version" running (3:35)
and the "long version" running (3:50)--both considerably shorter than the full version (apparently a stock 45 was also released with the full version).

Anyone know if either side of the promo is extractable from the full version?

Doug, every year I seem to pick up a couple of Christmas 45s for my
collection. So I'm filing them into my Xmas A-L and M-Z boxes, and I noticed
a copy of "25th Of Last December" in there already. I recall your initial post
got no replies. My memory jives with yours, as to the track being "DOA" on
radio, in both its 12-77 release and ever since. I only have a promo 45 for
the song, so I can't provide background on any stock 45/LP version details.
But it sounds like the LP is where you currently have the song. I just dubbed
and shot out to you both the short and long sides of my promo 45, crossing
my fingers that you can then analyze/answer your own question, after
hearing them.

Happy New Year, Jim (and everyone), and thx for the disc dubs.

From what I can tell, both sides of the promo are just early fades of the LP/stock 45 version (the longer side about 15 seconds longer than the shorter
side).

So that's another one off the list.
