"Glory of Love" was of course the "Theme from 'The Karate Kid Part II'", and is sub-titled as such on both the 45's label and picture sleeve - hence the song's first album appearance was on the O.S.T. to The Karate Kid Part II (United Artists 40414), although it was also included on Cetera's next solo album that was released almost simultaneously, Solitude/Solitaire. Because the soundtrack wasn't a huge seller and this was still the early days of CD (Summer of '86), it wasn't released in the digital format here in the U.S., and therefore, the soundtrack doesn't appear in Pat's on-line db. Folks who wanted "Glory of Love" on CD had to settle for Solitude/Solitaire...

Although this song hasn't been brought up here on the chat board before, the db implies that the 45 version and the Solitude/Solitaire LP version both run (4:20), and are identical. However, I'm curious to know if the soundtrack LP version is also the same (never owned it myself)??? If not, a 45/LP distinction will have to be made in the db. And while we're at it, I might as well ask the same question of the other top 40 hit that was also featured on the soundtrack, "Earth Angel" by New Edition??? (The latter has never had its own thread here on the chat board, either, and as listed/pictured on Discogs, had two different white-label promo 45s issued for it here in the U.S.: one on MCA 52905, the other on MCA S45-17211, although both had a printed time of "3:59"...)

They all run 4:20, according to Discogs.
