I was very surprised I could not find a previous thread about this one. Has anyone ever encountered this track on any legit CD release?
The only CD I am aware of is a volume of "Hey Look What I Found" bootleg series with disc dubs...and this sounds terrible on that CD. It's from a crackly 45.

I also found evidence there was a stereo LP, as ONE You-tube video has the in stereo but very poor audio quality. In my years of collecting vinyl I've never once seen a copy of the album.

The 45 was on Mercury so is it possible the folks at Universal Music still have a tape for this song or did that go up in smoke or in the trash way back when?

BTW Mark, I heard Randy Price play this song a year or two ago on his internet radio show so he may have a good vinyl source (better than that you tube video).

I know of no CD, the tapes should be safe and in the Eastern Universal Music vaults.

Thanks for tip, Santi. Randy was kind enough to send me a
dub of his stereo LP.
Very odd that Universal has never reissued this album.

Did this song not do well enough on other charts to make Pat's database? It
went to #35 on the Hot 100, but I don't have my other chart books handy to
look.

Peaked at #47 in Cash Box and #35 in Record World in the summer of '69.

There's a dub of the entire LP on YouTube now. Sounds "ok". Also,
it is longer than the dub of the 45 (the 45 runs faster and fades
early).
