I didn't see a thread for this song, which hit BB #20 in 1990.

I have a CD maxi single, Atlantic/Luke Records 7 96440-2. It has 4 tracks:

1) Radio Mix (4:25, listed and actual)
2) Radio Instrumental (4:28 listed)
3) Black Mix (4:25, listed and actual)
4) Percapella (4:28 listed)

The main difference between the Radio Mix and the Black Mix is that the
Radio Mix has a "Born in the USA" backbeat playing throughout (beginning
at 0:06), whereas the Black Mix does not and just has a generic beat.

I don't have the LP, so I don't know if there is a difference between the
Radio Mix and the LP version.

There is one difference I noticed between the LP/CD version and the Radio Mix on the promo CD. Before the second verse there are excerpts of Luke talking. The LP/CD has the part at 1:47 repeated "I made two versions, two versions, two versions..." The promo CD "Radio Mix" does not have the repeated section, but instead has another man who comes in to argue with Luke. Presumably, whoever this guy was, he didn't want his voice included on the album.

Also, I know there was more than one pressing of the CD, but they may be identical. One of them is only on Luke Records, and the other one also carries the Atlantic Records logo.

Interesting. According to discogs, the cassette single has the same 4
tracks as the promo cd and the US vinyl 45 also has the Radio Mix on
the A side.

If the Radio Mix is different than what is on the LP, then the database
probably needs a LP version vs. 45 version distinction (although I can't
vouch for discogs' accuracy).

The above is also promo CD single PRCD-3486. There is also promo CD single PRCD-3483 with one track 4:24 listed and actual.
