Barely missing the top 40 (peaking at #43) and making it to #2 on the rock charts, Sammy Hagar's "I'll Fall In Love Again" was apparently edited or faded early for the 7" single.

The LP version runs about 4:10 - 4:11, while the single edit runs about 3:28.

I went through YouTube and couldn't find anyone having posted the edit version; does anybody know if this is just an early fade, or an edit?

Thanks!

My promo 45 has the 4:10 album version on one side, and a
3:28 edit on the other.
In addition to an early fade, there appears to be an edit
at around 2:06. I'm not as good at re-creating these as
some of you are, PM me and I can send an mp3 of the edit
for anyone who wants it.

Thanks to Hykker, I can confirm there are actually TWO edits, and possibly an early fade.

Based on the vinyl rip I have, the two edits are:

1) 2:06 to 2:14 -- This cut is on the beat of "one."

2) 3:11 to 3:27 -- This cut is on the word "all."

I turned up the volume on the end of the rip but am not 100% sure I heard silence before the file ended... if everything is on there, it ends at 3:28, so you'd want to cut off everything from 3:28 forward.

Hykker's rip also ran a little faster than my copy, but that could be a difference in turntable speeds.

Thank you to Hykker for making this information available! I'm happy to have this one resolved. :-)
