Do any of you know of a particular radio version of Tonic's "If You Could Only See"? There's another radio version of the song that uses a different mix than the album and the radio edit that are on promo CDs.
It isn't the adult version because it's a completely different version. This version has the same edits and cuts as the radio edit, but toned down guitars, cleaner drums and louder vocals. Is there a possibility if it's acquirable anywhere because I literally hear this version the most on one of my local radio stations.

I don't recall all the details 20 years later, but we
played a house edit of this. ISTR there being 2 different
versions on the promo single, the album version and an
accoustic one. We used parts of both versions in our
composite.

If it isn't on any of the promo CDs, then it might be on Promo Only Mainstream Radio - June 1997, since there is a version that clocks out at 4:06 on that CD. If you or anyone else here are curious on hearing this particular version, I can send you the radio rip of it via email or something since I did managed to record it.

To 'ItsLennerd':
Prob'ly you're thinking of the 'Adult
Radio Mix'.
Unfortunately I am out of town so I can't
listen to see if the mix is as you
described...
Welcome to the fold!

That is what I am probably thinking of! I don't think it's the same as the "Adult Version" from one of the promo CDs cause that is a re-recorded version of the LP one. And I don't see any more CDs that has the "Adult Radio Mix".
And thanks for the welcome, guys! I have been reading the forums for several years and realized that everyone is a bit more helpful here than in other forums when it comes to finding certain radio versions of songs in very hard-to-reach places.
I just didn't sign up any sooner because I didn't think this site was taking anymore registrations. Looks like I was wrong! :)

I have a couple different promo CDs for this. I'll pull them out shortly
and post the details.

Not crazy!
Just got back home.
"Adult Radio Mix" sounds just like 'ItsLennerd' described.
Less Rock, more Smooth.

I just listen to the Adult Radio Mix and I can confirm that it was the version I was looking for! It kinda reminds me of the gold mix of "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback or that Pop Edit of Eve 6's "Inside Out" (which I both have). Awesome mix!
Thanks, Andy!

I have three promo CD singles for "If You Could Only See," and here's what's on each one:
PRCDP 00396 (Polydor)
1. LP Version (listed 4:21)
2. Edit (listed 4:07; actual 4:06)
(no catalog number, but it's a silver, factory-pressed Polydor promo)
1. Radio Edit (listed 4:07; actual 4:06)
2. Live Acoustic Version (listed & actual 4:17)
3. Adult Version (listed & actual 3:31)
4. LP Version (listed & actual 4:21)
(no catalog number, but it's a silver, factory-pressed Polydor promo)
1. Radio Edit (listed 4:07; actual 4:06)
2. Live Mix (listed & actual 3:31)
3. Adult Radio Mix (listed & actual 4:03)
- The 4:07 Radio Edit appears to be the same on all of the discs.
- The 3:31 Adult Version and 3:31 Live Mix are the same, and it's a completely new recording from the LP and Radio Edit. This version begins with a slow instrumental intro in place of the opening chorus, which does not appear on any of the other versions.
- The 4:21 Live Acoustic Version is also a completely different recording from all of the previously mentioned versions, and it's acoustic from start to finish.
- The 4:03 Adult Radio Mix uses the same vocal take as the LP and Radio Edit, but the mix is drastically different.
