The Bob Seger hit "Tryin' To Live My Life Without You" is incorrectly noted in the database as "LP length." Other than the obvious fade in on the 45, there is an edit toward the end of the song that cuts the last chorus. Database entries should read "LP version."

Ed forwarded me a copy of the edit you made, Aaron. Great work (especially on duplicating the fade in). And it confirmed that one of my locals playing the record just edited the LP version to match the 45 length (but made the edit in the wrong place, and didn't even duplicate the fade in). ------------- Doug --------------- All of the good signatures have been taken. |

Common practice for most live albums was, and i assume still is, to "sweeten" the recording by fixing live flubs, adding overdubs at times, and adding extra audience overdubs to make the audience sound larger, or more excited and involved.
At times, they would pull the promo or single mix from the live tape prior to mixing the album. A classic example is Kiss's "Rock And Roll All Nite" (and potty every day!) The 45 mix has a much more natural sounding lighter audience, while the album mix is laden with screaming people all thru the entire song, extremely loud. Just a theory. -MM |
