I apologize to bother the group for this, but I know if anyone would have this, it would be this group.

I found a CD copy of this song on "Just Can't Get Enough - New Wave Hits of the 80's Vol. 12" running 5:07...

...however, Discogs lists exactly one 7" running 4:04.

Against all odds, does anybody have a copy of this elusive single? Is 4:04 the actual length, or is it the standard LP length of 5:07?

If it DOES run less than 5:07, is it an early fade, an edit, or is it (in an attempt to drive me crazy) a unique mix I can't duplicate from the album version?

If (heaven help me) it's a unique mix, has anyone EVER found it in digital format?

My audience remembers "Pretty In Pink" and want to hear it, but I want to play the single version if such a thing exists.

THANKS for any help anyone can offer!!!

I've got the 45 - it does time out to 4:04. Will dig it
out & rip it if you like.

Chuck, you are fantastic! Comparing your single rip to the LP version on JCGE - NWHE vol 12, I can confirm:

1) It is the same mix.
2) It is NOT just an early fade.
3) It IS one very easy edit.

Take out the last verse, from 3:15 (right before he starts to sing "you lost a lot..." again) to 4:14 on the snare (right before the instrumental break-down.

59 seconds gone, and you match the "single edit" perfectly.

You guys never cease to amaze me. Thank you again for your help!!!
