Is the Backless album (LP/CD) the only place (besides the RSO 45) to find the song "Watch Out For Lucy" by Clapton and his band? Even though this b-side barely reached the Billboard top 40 in 1979 it failed to reach the top 40 on Cash Box and Record World so it's not listed in the database.

As far as I know, the Backless CD is the only CD on which the song has been issued. The 45 version cannot be recreated from the album version. On the album version, there is a countoff that overlaps the instrumental intro. The countoff was mixed out of the 45 version.

I searched too and thanks for the info. Surprised the 45 version is not on CD.

Can the 45 intro be edited on to the CD version and edited to
match the 45?

I wondered that as well. Maybe Aaron can shed some light on this!

Well, technically, no. The 45 is a unique mix from start to finish, but the only differences I can detect are that the harmonica and female background vocalist are both a tad bit lower in the mix. The two mixes are very, very close, though.

Nope, you must've gotten it from someone else.

I know I heard a pristine 45 dub from Mark Matthews.
