I came across online a boxed set titled: Elton John I'm
Still Standing; The Complete Singles.
And yes, it has the mono versions of the UNI records
singles including the hard to find "Your Song" which is
a dedicated mix. Along with "Levon" mono single mix and
other songs collected for the first time in their hit
single versions!
I could not find it on Amazon, got mine from a private
seller on Ebay.
I know for many "Your Song" has been hard to find.
If anyone is interested, PM and will send you a MP3
file. 320K.

Any reason if it is off CD you can't rip to a lossless format??

I'm not aware such release existed or was available. You sure this is not a boot set?

That is a good question. Actually FLAC is the format.
Mentioned MP3 because I ripped the cd's to MP3.
I forgot. Getting old! LOL
Anyone wants the FLAC message me !
Got it right that time!

Elton is sooooooooooo due for a true singles
compilation. Despite so many collections released
through the years, there are still many of his
Billboard charted hits that I don't think have been
ever anthologized:

* A Step Too Far
* A Word In Spanish
* All That I'm Allowed (I'm Thankful)
* Answer In The Sky
* Bite Your Lip (Get Up And Dance)
* Can't Stay Alone Tonight
* Chloe
* Club At The End Of The Street
* Friends Never Say Goodbye
* Healing Hands
* In Neon
* Made In England
* Nobody Wins
* Original Sin
* Recover Your Soul
* (Sartorial Eloquence) Don't You Wanna Play This
Game Mo More?
* Simple Life
* Someday Out Of The Blue
* The Bridge
* The Heart Of Every Girl
* The Last Song

Gary, do you have a track listing for this set? Like Rich,
I can't find anything online about it. Are these cleaned
up vinyl dubs?

I'm curious, and maybe someone knows if the following
Elton John UNI recordings were dedicated mono mixes. These
are either B-sides or album tracks:

Border Song
Friends
Take Me To The Pilot

I would love if someone could send me CLEAN mono dubs to
see if they are dedicated mixes or folds.

Does the box set have a barcode and what label and country is the set issued on?

Okay, a few things. I think this boxed set is a
bootleg, because can not find any official listing for
it.
The list I am about to post goes up through Candle In
The Wind, the 1997 version for Princess Diana's
funeral.
And the CD's I have is only 1 part going through that
time. The other set which covers 2000 onward I did not
get because wasn't that interested in those songs. So
basically covers 1969-1990.
But all the hits are here along with the 1969 and
early 1970 records before Your Song became Elton's
first hit.
And the mono 45's cover up to 1972 when everything on
MCA was stereo. It does not include the mono DJ of
Crocodile Rock or any mono radio promos of the bigger
70's hits
The edit of Tiny Dancer is on this collection, but
that is just an early fade of the LP version.
I will post the list separately from this.
Hope you all find something you like!

If "Candle In The Wind 1997" is included, it is
definitely a bootleg. Elton or his label would never
permit that song to be included on any compilation. I
believe the only way to obtain a true recording of that
song is by finding a physical single released from back
then.

You are correct Scanner. I am convinced this collection
is a bootleg.
Would have made a nice legit release.

From the track listing, it looks like they're in chronological order and it seems to stop at 1980 with "Little Jeannie" (with the exception of Candle In The Wind 1997). What's the running time of "Little Jeannie", as it's specifically labelled as "Single Edit"? I always thought I heard a shorter version on the radio years ago, but there's no US promos with an edit listed on Discogs. And I just now realized that while the collection is called "I'm Still Standing", the actual song isn't on there at all.

Little Jeannie is the 45 length as released. You might
have heard an inhouse edit. I remember many Top 4o
stations doing in house edits on Elton's longer
singles.
There was a second collection of later singles from
the later years, but I bypassed those CD's.
For the price was not interested.

There's a few listings of the "Little Jeannie" 45 from
other countries with a listed running time of 4:48 on
Discogs, so maybe that's the one I heard, but I don't
think it was even that long. The same thing happened when
I used to hear Poco's "Heart Of The Night", I could have
sworn what I heard was shorter than what's on the 45 and
album, but no shorter promo there either in that case.
Probably in-house edits on both, I Guess.

The version of "Little Jeannie" on "Diamonds" is also
just 4:48.

I always wondered why Elton never released a Greatest
Hits Volume 4. His "Love Songs" compilation somewhat
served that purpose, but pulled songs from his
previous hits collections and excluded many of his
hits since his third hits set on Geffen which mostly
didn't fit the "love" theme:

* I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That
* A Word In Spanish
* Healing Hands
* Club At The End Of The Street
* You Gotta Love Someone
* The Last Song
* Simple Life
* True Love
* Made In England

Personally, I think "You Gotta Love Someone" and "True Love" fit the 'love' theme :)

The original single on Congress Records of "Border Song"
is mono. The UNI single reissue if I recall correctly is
also mono.

Exactly! I would preferred they included those songs
instead of repeating songs that already appeared on his
other compilations to that point. (Who knew then how
many times his catalog would be compiled since using the
same core set of songs over and over and over....)

BTW - was "No Valentines" ever released as a single
anywhere?

I just looked at his Singles Discography on Discogs, and it doesn't appear so.

New Deluxe Edition of "Madman Across the Water" coming out soon with bonus tracks of "Levon (mono single version)" and "Razor Face (Extended Version)." Wouldn't surprise me if "Levon" is a disc dub as I
would bet the mono master burned up in the Universal fire, but it's the first time any of his Uni mono mixes have ever been issued on CD.
