Pat:

I've discovered an omission in your database that may be of particular interest to 45 version collectors. The song "Saturday Love" by Cherrelle featuring Alexander O'Neal appears on the various artist CD Unstoppable 90's Urban Jams (Cold Front 6419) and runs 4:18. The tray insert indicates this is the "single edit". According to Joel Whitburn's Pop Singles Annual 1955-1999 book, the commercial 45 run time is listed at 4:15. If it all checks out, this would of course mark the first and only time the 45 version of "Saturday Love" has appeared on a domestic CD release. So can anyone confirm if the Unstoppable 90's Urban Jams disc does indeed contain the 45 version?

Todd, this is not an omission from my database, it is an omission from the cd. Saturday Love is listed on the jacket as being the last track (track 17) but it is not included on the cd!

WOW! That's really strange, Pat, because my CD copy actually does have "Saturday Love" as track 17! The matrix number is printed backwards on the CD hub. When I hold it up to a mirror, it reads DIDP-098875 followed by a blank space and then the number 2. What is the matrix number on your copy?

Wow that is the toughest matrix number I have ever tried to read Todd. It looks like it is reversed and not even visable from the front side so I am guessing it is DIDP 578890 blank space 1.

Thanks to Ed's help, I have now verified that the 45 version of "Saturday Love" indeed appears on my CD copy of Unstoppable 90's Urban Jams. Again, the track's run time on the CD is 4:18. I timed the actual vinyl 45 run time to be 4:19. Ed, could you check the printed run time on your 45 for me? If it states 4:15 like Whitburn reports, then the database should probably note the printed time vs. actual time difference.

Not long ago, I purchased a factory sealed copy of the now out-of-print Cherrelle High Priority CD. I bought it hoping to obtain the full LP version of "Saturday Love" running 6:28, but much to my major disappointment I discovered that my copy contains the all-too-common-on-CD 4:59 version that omits the LP introduction.

Evidently, my High Priority CD is a 2003 reissue that was released on Tabu/Right Stuff 41818, which is different than the original CD pressing currently listed in the database. So, Pat, you might want to make a note of this.

I just wanted to bump up my previous post since the info regarding the 2003 reissue of the Cherrelle High Priority CD on Tabu/Right Stuff 41818 has not yet been updated in the database. I figure this might help save other database subscribers who are interested in tracking down the complete 6:28 LP version from wasting their money purchasing the wrong CD pressing like I did.

Todd, this appears on my screen as the 5th entry under "Saturday Love". Does this not appear on your screen as the 5th entry?

Yes, Pat, I do see it now. Thanks!
